Saturday, October 5, 2024, marks the start of Illinois’ fall trout catch and release season. Illinois anglers will have two weeks for the trout catch and release season. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources stocks over 80,000 rainbow trout each year in bodies of water where trout fishing is permitted during the fall season.
